48th Mulcahy Memorial Chess Congress €1500 Prize-money Friday January 1 – Sunday January 3, 2016 Venue: Gresham Metropole Hotel, McCurtain Street, Cork. For special rates contact the hotel here and mention the ‘Mulcahy Chess Tournament’ when booking. A number of local B&Bs can be found here here and here while some hostel accommodation can be found here and here. Mulcahy Memorial Congress: This is a one section tournament open to all players.
Rate of play: All moves in 90 minutes plus 15 seconds per move increments from move 1
All games will be played using digital clocks
Entry fee and prize fund Entry Fees €35 Student/unwaged/OAP €30 An increase of €10 applies if entry fee received after 19th December 2015.
On line entry is available at: http://www.corkchess.com/ Prizes 1 st / €700; 2nd €300; 3rd €150; grading prizes €100 each; David and Goliath prize €50 Prize-money may increase or decrease depending on entries. No player may win more than one cash prize.

FIDE rules will apply and will be available at the tournament organisers hope to be able to provide sets and clocks but would appreciate if you would bring a set and clock in case of a surge in late entries.
