Winter 2020 Tournament ends with fun event and Closing Ceremony
Monday 29th March saw the last evening of the Winter Tournament with a fun swiss tournament followed by an award ceremony. A brilliant end to 22 weeks of good slow chess.
Winter Tournament 2020 final results
With 22 weeks of play and some brilliant chess. We have our final round and the results of this years Winter tournament. A fun rapidplay tournament will be run this last Monday of March followed by a Zoom closing ceremony.
The Virtual Ulster Masters was played on November 21st/22nd 2020
With two sections and some 23 players - the Masters was our first slow weekend Virtual Chess Tournament. With Senior Championship won by Adam Collins and Intermediate won by Andrew Todd.

How do the players stand. Will there be any fight offs or are the positions settled? We have had some 21 weeks of chess and with week 22 on monday 22nd March 2021 the positions are finalised.
Two weeks remaining of the Winter Tournament 2021
Follow the progress of the competition to date. We have two weeks remaining with Danny Roberts ahead with a fantastic 85.7% and Michael Hood 2nd on a very good 68.8%.
Three weeks left and the standings for the Winter 2012 Tournament
With 3 rounds left how are the standings. This tournament alot of players have played almost every week. Which makes for a good tournament and occasionally provides some challenging pairings. Most players have played more than the 14 games that allow them to ignore the rule of having to play 2 of the 3 last weeks.

Chess NI Youth Championships 2021
On Saturday 20th February 2021 young players aged 8 - 24 played in the NI Youth Chess Championships.
Ulster Chess and Bangor Club lose a much beloved and highly respected member.
Ron Henderson passed from this life on Christmas day. Ron was a friend to many in the Ulster Chess World. Many players enjoyed his company and love of the game. Ken Browne remembers his friend, Ron "A gentleman and a scholar".
