December starts the run of top Childrens Chess Tournaments
All young chess players are welcome to these monthly tournaments - organised jointly by the Ulster Schools Chess Council and Ulster Chess Union.
We run two sections. A primary school and secondary school section. The series for tournaments will end in a special event at Stormont where the best 4 primary, 4 lower Secondary, 4 Upper Secondary players are invited to a tournament and a prize giving.
We also have a puzzle competition where the players try to solve 22 chess puzzles. Solving puzzles is an excellent way to improve your chess - this year at Stormont we will be awarding a shield to the best puzzle winner of the year.

Kiran Robbin and Matthew Chapman gaining 3rd and fourth place on 4 points.
