A half day of chess fun. Play chess. Solve Problems. Grand-prix system runs over all these monthly tournaments - win opportunity to play chess at Stormont.

An afternoon of chess fun

The afternoon will consist of a tournament with prizes, a problem solving competition, informal coaching (packed lunch advisable)

Entry Fee £5.00

Organised Jointly by Ulster Schools Chess Council and Ulster Chess Union

Three competitions for different age-groups:

1. Primary school children

2. Secondary School Year 8 to Year 10

3. Year 11 and above

A Grandprix Points System will work over the course of the tournaments – the top 4 in each section will be invited to a special prize giving in June (last years was held at Stormont) and a Championship shield will be awarded to the school of the winners.
