The Summer tournament has now played for 21 weeks - A drop in tournament - setup to allow players to play during the Summer months when alot of clubs close. With plenty of exciting chess. Next week we have a fun quick play tournament and award ceremony - all welcome.

An exciting Ulster Championship took place on the bank holiday weekend of 24th-26th August at the brilliant venue of the Europa Hotel. Three sections - Senior, Junior and Intermediate all fought for with energy, imaginative and creative play.
Summer School a brilliant 3 days of chess endings
The annual Ulster Chess Union Summer Chess School took place on 7th, 8th, 9th August at the beautiful venue of Ballynafeigh Bowling Club. With the assistance of Ross Harris, Geoff Hindley and Michael Wong.

Held at The Pavilion, part of the Stormont Estate and location of the NICS chess club, the City of Belfast Championships were a terrific bank holiday weekend of chess.
