SURGE OF LOCAL PLAYERS MAKE THEIR FIDE DEBUT IN APRIL 2020 RATING LIST
UCU Tournament Director Brendan Jamison states:
“We are delighted to get more of our local players onto the FIDE rating ladder with lots more making their debut in the April 2020 rating list. This has been a giant passion to get Northern Ireland players onto the international chess map! We started the season with around 25 players with a FIDE rating and now we’re up to 66 with lots more on the verge of getting their rating so very soon we’ll be over 100 when the new season kicks off. You need 5 games against existing players with a FIDE rating and one of the games needs to be a win.”
