The Masters was held at Lisburn Chess Club over the weekend of 11th - 13th Nov 2022.
We had a full tournament for the Masters. Which was held at the brilliant location of Lisburn Chess Club. Some 40 players battled and played some brilliant chess. We had new faces, regulars, players travelling up from Dublin.
Omagh Rapidplay 3rd Dec 2022 - tournament report by B. Jamison
104 players have now taken part in the NI Rapid Grand Prix, with Omagh the 7th out of 10 tournaments in the series. On 3rd December, 30 players gathered at the Christian Brothers Grammar School on a beautiful Winter’s day. With 2 sections and 6 rounds, players had 25 minutes each per game. It was great to welcome players from far and wide, especially some very talented newcomers!

On 17th November, Bangor Chess Club held its last FIDE-rated event of 2022, the Gold Coast Blitz.

North Belfast Rapid 22nd Oct - tournament report
On Saturday 22nd October, 33 players gathered at the magnificent Duncairn Arts Centre for the North Belfast Rapid Championship. The top section was FIDE rated and the junior section was UCU rated (for players rated 0-1100).
The UCU league starts next week. Week beginning 17th Oct.

Groomsport Autumn Blitz 2022 - tournament report.
33 players competed in the Groomsport Autumn Blitz, with 29 male and 4 female. Held on Thursday 13th October 2022,
On Sunday 9th October, 34 chess players took part in the Newry Autumn Rapid, held across two rooms at the Sticky Fingers Arts Centre.
Played over 10 rounds with a time control of 15+0, the event allowed many more players the opportunity to play enough games to earn a FIDE rating. There were two sections, 22 in the senior (rated by FIDE, the International Chess Federation) and 12 in the junior (rated by the UCU, the Ulster Chess Union).

The Ulster Masters 2022 will be held at Lisburn Chess Club
This years Ulster Masters will have 5 rounds. One on friday evening 11th Nov and two each on Saturday 12th, Sunday 13th Nov. Allowing a slow time control of 90mins + 30secs increments.
Downpatrick Rapid - 17th September 2022
The NI Rapidplay Grand Prix continued with the Downpatrick Rapidplay 17th Sept. So far, 40 players have competed in the NI Rapid Grand Prix. 10 events in total. After the first two tournaments, Richard Morrow leads the top section and Paul O’Connor leads the junior section.

Roaming Knights in North Belfast will celebrate its one year anniversary with a special chess cake and afternoon rapid tournament on Saturday 22nd October at Duncairn Arts Centre on the Antrim Road. Check-in at 1:30pm, ending at 4:30pm. Spectators welcome.
