Childrens Chess Grandprix Standings after January 2023

With 2 of the 5 childrens chess tournaments completed we have the standings so far in the Grandprix. There are 3 more tournaments to go so plenty of opportunity to play and win points. Or to solve puzzles and also gain points. The season ends with an Award Ceremony usually held at Stormont.

The standings after 2 tournaments for The Belfast Scholastic Shields. These are given based on results from the series of 5 Childrens Chess tournaments played on Saturday Afternoons at Methodist College. The points are awarded depending on a players position for that month in their section: Primary / Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary (Form 4 and above) and for puzzle solving Primary and Secondary. The top 4 of each section are invited to an award ceremony and Elite tournament in June usually held at Stormont. An article on a previous award ceremony: https://www.ulsterchess.org/Members/ucu00450/2021-2022/childrens-chess-2021-22/stormont-awards-2022/naomi-long-mla-invites-top-young-chess-players-to-stormont-for-awards-and-competition

The scores for the tournaments are calculated on the position of the player in their section.
