Norman McFarland salvaged the Malone Road side's only half-point as he drew with Edward Doak. Adrian Dornford-Smith and Geoff Hindley both overcame 200+ point ratings disadvantages to help Civil Service to a 3.5-1.5 victory against Muldoons 2, and a strong Fruithill side prevailed against Ballynafeigh 4. The match between QUB 2 and the Bangor Webbs was postponed.
