For those who would like to start the new year with some chess and visit a lovely city...... 49th Mulcahy Memorial Chess Congress - €1500 Prize-money Friday January 6 – Sunday January 8, 2017 Venue: Gresham Metropole Hotel, McCurtain Street, Cork (5min from railway station and 2min from bus station). For special rates contact the hotel here and mention the ‘Mulcahy Chess Tournament’ when booking. Mulcahy Memorial Congress: This is a one section tournament open to all players.

Rate of play: All moves in 90 minutes plus 15

seconds per move increments from move 1

All games will be played using digital clocks

Entry fee and prize fund

Entry Fees:

Mulcahy €35

Student/unwaged/OAP €30

An increase of €10 applies if entry fee received after 27th December 2016.

grading prizes €100 each; David and Goliath prize €50
