Alan Burns Intense March 2017

The Alan Burns Intense continues the series of the grand-prix. and continues the recent opportunities to play chess. With players Brendan Jamison and Mikhail Pavlov.

A good number of players entered the second Alan Burns tournament this year. The Intense consists of games of 15mins each with as many rounds as possible. We were luck to have Brendan Jamison playing - especially after yesterdays tiring Blitz tournament. The range of players was well represented. From Brendans 1747 down to Chris Armstrongs 1190 although his usual rating is higher than this (some 1423).

I decided to cap the rounds to 6 to complete by 5:00pm - I had hoped to have more rounds. To allow for more rounds I would need to finish closer to 6:00pm. With 4 players on 4 anything could happen. Daniil beats Mikhail whilst Modestas beats Brendan so we have 2 players on 5 points. We will have to use the tie breaking systems....
