Award Ceremony for the Summer 2018 tournament

The end of September and the award ceremony for the Summer Tournament. Plus a fun handicap tournament where the time given to each player depends on the difference of their grades. From 10min:10min to 2:min:18mins.

Over the summer we have had lots of chess (some 192 games) and some excellent games. Daniil Zelenchuk led the way with a high percentage score. Also David Ruben had some excellent results. Then after some weeks James Wong and David Seaby also had good percentages. Also some new faces with good results - Aaron Wafflart and Chris Hamill took points off our regular players. Before we get to the prize winners. We had a fun handicap tournament to play.

I entered the names into the computer and did the draw and then things went wrong - the printer refused to print - funny how technical problems can be humanised. Not so funny when it delays the first round and you feel pressured to get things started. With peoples suggestions we switched everything off and restarted. and yes it suddenly worked!

What followed was 5 rounds of fun chess. The time handicap was devised by David Seaby (thanks David) and definitely leveled the playing field.

In with a chance were Brian Fitzsimons with 3 also James Wong and Adam Rushe. We end up with 5 players on 4 points and have to use the tie breaking scores to determine the order of the leaders.
