Alan Burns Lacksidasical June 2018

On Sunday June 10th we had the final of this years Alan Burns Lacksidasicals. Afternoons of relaxing fun chess. The winner of the 2018 Alan Burns GrandPrix would be decided.

I dont always get to play in these tournaments but today we had an odd number - I played. Thinking my fast chess wouldnt be up to much, my rating is 1445 I hoped not to impact the results too much...

But as it would appear I won all the games I played!

Unfortunately the leader of the Grandprix Richard Gould wasnt present. So the field was quite open in the senior section. In the Junior section Ram Rajan leads and David Jackson and Chris Armstrong are reasonably close.

The standings in the Grandprix going into the tournament was:

How would this be at the end of the tournament?

I will let the results speak for themselves with some photos - a couple of endgames - the time limit of 20mins + 5 allows for better endgames.

The two trophies have photos of Alan Burns on them - these tournaments are a brilliant way of celebrating Alans love of chess.
