Results of the 2018 Summer tournament

With the last round of the 2018 Summer Tournament having been played we can see the final positions of the players. Next week we have fun time base handicap tournament and the award ceremony.

It was wednesday 19th September and we had storm warnings - I checked with the Pavillion during the day to check it wasnt closed due to the weather, it was open. Arriving a little early - wasnt sure about roads and traffic the wait began to see how many players we would get. Would my prepared draw (usually do a rough draw before the evening of play) which matched the wining players against each other (where possible) be usable or would we only have a few players?

In the end we had 16 players (including myself - so I got to play). and including most of the key players.

After last week we had the leaders of the compeition and sections were.

Tournament leader: Ram Rajan 80%

Tournament second: joint : Daniil Zelenchuk 75%  Ranjit Singh 75%

Top Section leader: David Ruben 59.38%

Middle Section leader: Stewart McConaghy 55.88%

Lower Section Leader: James Wong 72.22%

The lower section has a tight battle between James Wong, David Seaby, Ranjit Singh and Adrian Dornford-Smith.

Would the positions change in the last week?

The pairings and results for the final round: Lower section leaders David Seaby and James Wong play each other.  Adrian Dornford-Smith has a tough pairing with Michael Wong. Whilst Michael Sheerin plays up a section against David Ruben who started the tournament incredibly well against tough opposition but has fallen a little in the latter part of the tournament. Adam Rushe also plays up against Stewart McConaghy.
