Belfast Culture Night. Enjoy meeting potential new chess players. Play chess and enjoy the cafe experience. Share your enthusiasm for the game. At Caffe Nero, 19 Lombard St. or Costa Coffee, Victoria Centre, September 21st 3:30pm til late. This is part of the Belfast annual Culture Night with lots of exciting public events celebrating culture.

On Friday September 21st evening Belfast is holding its annual Culture Night ( Belfast Culture Night Site) With lots of exciting public events celebrating Belfast, Culture and People.

As part of this wonderful event  Ulster Chess is assisting in running a Cafe Chess event at two cafes : our usual Caffe Nero , 19 Lombard St and a new venue Costa Coffee, Victoria Centre.

We will have people playing chess. Some brilliant chess puzzles to solve. The aim is to encourage passers-by to experience the fun of chess and hopefully have a quick game.

Other up and coming events for your diaries include :

New mini chess festival in Portrush Atlantic Hotel on 12th - 13th October.

Annual Flexible Winter tournament : QUB - starting 19th November Monday flexible tournament. Organised by Belfast South Chess Club.

Week one of the league starts - 15th October.

OPEN MEETING TO DISCUSS LEAGUE: 7:30pm on Friday 5th October

We will be holding a UCU board meeting on Friday 5th October from 7:30pm to 8:30pm at the Good Shepherd Centre, 511 Ormeau Road, Belfast. This is open to all team captains to attend to ask any questions about the league before it commences.
