The final round of the Summer Tournament

The final round of the Summer Tournament was played on Wednesday 20th September. After 20 weeks of brilliant chess the results have been calculated.

Prior to the last round starting Neil Green gave a presentation to Ray Devenney who has done so much for chess and Ulster Chess - hes been President of the Ulster Chess Union and also of the Irish Chess Union. He also won both the Irish Championships and the Ulster Championships and represented Ireland internationally. Neil thanked Ray for all his work with chess and those present gave Ray a very warm farewell - as hes off to Newcastle to be close to family. We all wish him well and will miss playing him at chess and enjoying his warm conversations.
