City of Belfast this weekend

This weekend sees the City of Belfast we have some 28 entrants two sections and three days of brilliant chess. Please note there will be road works near the event. Details below. When travelling allow for delays - leave early.

We are up to 28 entrants for this weekend’s tournament so it promises to be lots of fun. Round 1 starts at 10am but we’ve just received word that there will be road closures affecting access to the venue from the normal entrance on the Newtownards Road. Despite the road works occuring this weekend (26th & 27th May), the Pavilion is still accessible via Knock Junction. State that you are going to the Pavilion at the HBS and you will be allowed access.

No through traffic will be allowed through Comber Junction during this period of time.

Please also find attached a document outlining how to access the Pavilion on Sunday 27th May 2018.

On Sunday 27th May, the Pavilion is accessible via Stoney Road Entrance (A) between 8am and 2pm. The Upper Newtownards Road Entrance (B) will be opened at 2pm and will remain open until late on this day. Access will not be permitted via Stoney Road after 2pm.
