Fisherwick Smash Fortress PFC

It was top of the table stuff yet again as QUB hosted Fisherwick in the PFC. Post Christmas results have seen Champions Queen's threaten to pull away from the chasing pack, with the Uni side remaining unbeaten and their rivals unable to rid themselves of inconsistency.

A consecutive win for QUB over Fisherwick may have all but ended the Evil Empire's title aspirations but - wouldn't Ulster Chess followers just know it - things couldn't have gone much differently. Rather than it being a tale of Queen's putting Fisherwick's challenge to bed, it was Fisherwick who stunned their hosts to blow the race for the Silver King wide open once more.
