Fisherwick Winter Tournament 2007
The first of 2007/08’s Fisherwick Monday night tournaments finished on the 26th of November. Dominating the seven-rounder from start to finish was a newcomer to the competition, RVH player Joseph Mordeno.

Mordeno defeated almost all of the Fisherwick regulars – from the more senior members including Alex Beckett, to the more junior players such as Ananda Srinivasan and Sam Ferris. The only blemish on Joseph’s 6.5/7 score was caused by a single draw against David Ruben. Mordeno collected his first place prize from controller Neil Green.
This wasn’t Neil’s only participation in the prize-giving. He was calculated to have edged out Sam Ferris on tiebreak for the 2nd place prize, albeit with cries of “fix!” from Norman McFarland ringing in his ears.
