British Championships
Over a dozen Ulster players took part in the British Championships in Southport over the last fortnight. While Jonathan Mestel was on the pedestal as British Champion, our local players put up a good show, notably Roger Beckett joint third in the under-11's, Niall Carton joint seventh in the under-14's. and both Nigel Greer and Keith Allen with 6½ out of 11 points in the under 18's and under 21' respectively.
Below is an earlier game from our hero Roger Beckett, which helped him win the Newcastle Minor One Day Tournament, but it took "Four Knights".
