In the recent Downpatrick Congress, sponsored by the Gateway Building Society, 11 of the 75 entrants were graded over 2,000, ensuring a high-class competition in the open, which gave our American visitor his sixth win. R Stafford was the outright winner of the Major, while K McCann and T Farrell shared the Intermediate.
