Ulster Intermediate and Junior Championships 2004

The Ulster Intermediate and Junior Championships were held on the weekend of 20 and 21 November 2004 at North Belfast Chess Club. The Intermediate was open to players rated between 1500 and 1900 and the Junior for those under 1500 and unrated. A disappointing number of entrants in the Intermediate event meant that the two sections had to be amalgamated.

City of Belfast 2005 Report

German player Bernhard Kern, who recently joined the Fisherwick Chess Club, won the Nemtzov Cup with 5.5 points out of 6, just a half-point ahead of Ulster champion Steve Scannell. The Henderson Cup, restricted to players rated under 1600, was won by Richard Proctor, who now has a hat-trick of titles this season.

Ulster Schools' Individuals Tournament

In November 2004, the Ulster Schools' Individuals Tournament was held in Royal Belfast Academical Institution. The competition was split into Under 19, Under 16, Under 14, and Under 12 sections.
