Ulster Champion Stephen Scannell scored perhaps his most notable tournament victory with a final total of 5 points in this five-round single section weekend Swiss. 2nd equal were IM Mark Heidenfeld and Daire McMahon on 4.5 and among those finishing on four points were Irish Champion Stephen Brady and FM Colm Daly, the latter beaten by Scannell in the last round. Of the other Ulster competitors, Danny Mallaghan finished on 3.5, Nicholas Pilkiewicz on 3.0 and Paul McLoughlin on 2.0.
