Walter Wilson awarded ‘Special Lifetime Membership’ of Bangor Chess Club.

Walter Wilson awarded ‘Special Lifetime Membership’ of Bangor Chess Club. The certificate was delivered by his close friend Owen Wilson, former Club Secretary, on Saturday 23rd September 2023.

Walter joined the club in the 1970s and returned again in 2007 for this current 16 year spell. His enthusiasm for chess, abundance of positive energy, combined with his kindness and gentle mannerism, has made him one of the most popular members in the club’s six decade history. It is with great pleasure the club committee bestow this award on such an esteemed member. Long may he continue to be a wonderful inspiration to other members of the club.
