The Winter tournament standings after 16 weeks.

The Winter tournament has been running on mondays for 16 weeks. What are the current standings. With 6 weeks of the tournament left and ending with a fun quick play and award ceremony on the last Monday of March 29th.

With some 26 registered players playing 92 games of slow chess over 16 weeks. What is the standings for our Winter Tournament.

I love the idea of sitting infront of a chess board and focusing for some 3 hours on pure chess positions, planning, attacking, defending, making the best of a weak move, trying to win from an advantage and seeing it disappear and being swallowed in a loss and then those brilliant wins....... What a fantastic game.

Thanks to all the players for supporting this tournament.

I have split the group using UCU ratings.

Leading the top section with only 1 defeat is Danny Roberts. with a fantastic 85.7%. Closely followed by Mark Newman on 85%.

Danny Roberts is a close second

The lower section has a clear leader who is really beating everyone. Michael Hood on 70.83% has knocked points off players in all the sections. Drawing against Robert Lavery and Chris Kelly. Hes a very formidable opponent. David Corr holds second place and again his score hides some excellent results.
