1920

There was no competitive action between the Belfast clubs in the 1915-16, 1916-17, 1917-18 and 1918-1919 seasons. The chess column of the Belfast News-Letter for Thursday 11th December 1919 reported on an imminent return of league chess:

A meeting of the secretaries of the Belfast Chess Clubs, held on Saturday last in the Central Hall, Rosemary Street, decided to resume the Inter-Club tournament this season.

At that meeting a fixture list of 12 matches between four clubs was arranged with matches to take place between 17 December 1919 and 27 March 1920.
