1900-1901 ULSTER TROPHY

The Belfast and Holywood clubs did not enter the Inter-Club competition and the contest was confined to two clubs - Strandtown and Victoria, who played home and away against each other. The first match was played at the Strandtown clubrooms on the 25th February 1901 with the home team winning in a close contest over 10 boards.

Victory in the return match at the Victoria clubrooms again went to the home team but this time by a much more substantial margin in a match over 11 boards.

After one team winning one match each and game points not counting,a play-off match over 10 boards to break the tie was held at the Strandtown clubrooms on the 25th April 1901. Victoria emerged victorious to win the Ulster Trophy for the third time after previous successes in the 1893-94 inaugural season and again two seasons later.
