Inaugural FoNIC Rapidplay

5 Round Swiss tournament played at the Belfast Europa Hotel on Saturday 3rd May 2008. Each player had 30 minutes for the entire game.

Friends of Northern Ireland Chess (FoNIC) is a new organisation whose principal objective is to provide financial support to individuals and teams representing the Ulster Chess Union in both individual and team events outside Northern Ireland.

This inaugural FoNIC Rapidplay is the first in what is hoped will be a long-term series of fund-raising events in support of FoNIC's objectives.
