40 competitors competed in 2 sections - an excellent turnout considering that many Ulster chess clubs are closed for the summer.

Prizewinners:

Open: 21 players: 5 round Swiss:
1. Stephen Scannell 4.5; 
2. Michael Holmes 4.0; 
3=4. Nicholas Pilkiewicz, Danny Mallaghan 3.5 
(Pilkiewicz took third prize on tie-break, but Mallaghan had the consolation of securing the Under-1900 Grading Prize.) The Under-1750 Grading Prize was won by Desmond Moreland.
