Our FIDE tournaments are now on a 3 month Summer break. We will return again with the Ulster Championships at Elmwood Hall (QUB) over the 3 day bank holiday weekend of Saturday 26th to Monday 28th August 2023. It will be 2 rounds per day with a time control of 90+30. There will be 3 sections, all 3 will be dual rated by FIDE and UCU, 1700+ (Senior), 1400-1700 (Intermediate) and 0-1400 (Junior). Remember you must be a member of the ICU or UCU to get your games rated. Players will need to pay their annual UCU fees for the 2023/2024 season to be eligible to play in the Ulster Championships.
Another key date to remember is Saturday 9th September. Entry is now open for the inaugural City of Derry Rapid Championship. It promised to be super fun in a wonderful city. £12 early rate entry fee, £15 after 2nd September if space is still available. Prepay to secure a place. Entries to fidechessni@gmail.com
