Update on Gold Coast Blitz Grand Prix at the halfway stage
So far 72 players have competed in the FIDE rated NI Gold Coast Blitz Grand Prix. We are now at the halfway stage with 4 tournaments completed and 4 more to come in 2024. Image attached with the top 20 in the current standings.
Very well done to 16 year old Ben McIlroy (Belfast South), extending his lead last night, now sitting on 25 points, followed by 15 year old Caleb McClean (Bangor) in 2nd place, meanwhile Adam Rushe (Bangor) and 15 year old Oliver Mead (Bangor) are both in joint 3rd and last night's champion Eddie Khanzharov (QUB) sits in 5th place.
The next event in the series is on Thursday 4th January 2024, when the magic continues...
