Farewell from Ross and Brendan
As of 25th May 2020 Ross Harris (Chairperson) and Brendan Jamison (Secretary / tournament director/ league controller) have stepped down from their roles on the UCU Committee. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time helping to run and develop chess in Ulster. But we feel the time is right for some fresh faces and some fresh ideas! Mark Newman will be taking over as interim Chairperson until the next AGM. - A letter from Ross Harris.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the UCU committee members we’ve worked with over the years, for all their hard work and dedication in developing chess in Ulster.
I would also like to thank John McMorrow for his help with the re-affiliation of the UCU with the ICU, and for all the support he has given the UCU. Similarly, I would like to thank Desmond Beatty for all his efforts trying to involve the UCU players in his Junior initiatives, including recently allowing Ulster to host the Irish Junior Championships (sadly COVID got in the way of this).
Lastly I would like to thank Brendan Jamison for the incredible amount of work he puts into chess every year...your shoes will be hard to fill!!
I look forward to seeing you all at tournaments as a player!
Ross Harris“
Thanks!
Ross
