Children's Chess Grand Prix 2007-8

This year's Children's Chess series, sponsored by the Northern Bank Sports Club, had an innovation. As well as prizes for the individual events there was also an overall Grand Prix.

Players received points for their placing in each event, 10 points for first place down to 1 point for eighth. There was a competition each month, beginning in December 2007 and finishing in April 2008 and each player's best three results would count towards the Grand Prix standings. The best 4 players from both the Primary and Secondary competitions qualified for the Grand Prix Final to be held at Stormont on Friday 23rd May 2008.
