Childrens Chess starts with the Belfast London Junior Chess Championship Qualifier

Childrens Chess is back. With its first tournament on Saturday 2nd October 2021. Taking place at Methodist College. A 6 round tournament. Followed in the year with our monthly Childrens Chess tournaments including the Ulster Schools Championship in December.

We will be asking for pre-registration for all tournaments due to Covid.

The dates for the tournaments are given below. Further details for each tournament will be given on this website in the events section.

The Childrens Chess afternoons are run as a group with a Grandprix system working.with the top four in each section - Primary, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary being invited to Stormont for an award ceremony and Elite tournament. The top four for Puzzle solving in Secondary and Primary also are invited.

The scores for the tournaments are calculated on the position of the player in their section.

The top 3 scores over the series of the 5 tournaments are added together to calculate players scores. If players share points they share the prize.
