In 2024, Bangor Chess Club will hold the last 3 rounds of the Sam Lynn Memorial Bangor Classic on the following 3 dates:
ROUND 4: Thur 25th Jan 2024
7:30pm to 9:30pm
ROUND 5: Thur 15th Feb 2024
7:30pm to 9:30pm
ROUND 6: Thur 14th Mar 2024
7:30pm to 9:30pm
This tournament is 1 classic game per night at a time control of 60+0 and restricted to players rated U1800. The tournament will run on nights when the Bangor league team are playing home matches. It will be UCU rated.
It costs £5 per night to play in the event which runs for 6 rounds across the season. There are 3 bands with perpetual trophies awarded to the Champion, the Intermediate Champion and Junior Champion. Where possible, players will be paired with others within the same grading band to ensure as close a game as possible.
FIDE rules will apply.
