On friday 8th June 2018 Chris Lyttle MLA invited top young chess players to Stormont to receive awards for chess and to play in the Belfast Elite Competition.
The City of Belfast an International field and 3 days of chess and beautiful weather
With two titled players from Germany and 4 players from Dublin in the beautiful surrounds of the NICS Pavillion a scene was set for a brilliant tournament. On the bank holiday of 26th, 27th, 28th May we had 3 days of 2 games a day at a wonderful slow pace.
The Belfast Delancey Mega-Finals
The largest Schools tournament in the UK. The UK Chess Challenge. Held the Belfast Mega-finals at Methodist College on Saturday 12th May. Who would qualify to play in the Giga-Finals? The sun shone - and we had great fun playing chess....
