Kelly's Heroes in pole position as Division 2 splits
(B&D League 2017/18 Week 11) With the pre-split fixtures now complete, the top three in Division 2 are separated by just four points, while Muldoons 1's inexorable march towards the Silver King continues unabated as they thrash The A Team.
Sadly Alex Beckett has passed away.
An inspirational leader in our local chess scene, Alex Beckett, has died at the age of 86. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. The amount of time and energy he poured into the development of chess in Belfast will forever make him a legend within Ulster Chess. Alex Beckett’s funeral will be held at Knockbreda Church of Ireland Parish Church, Church Road, Belfast BT8 7AN at 11am this Friday 26th January.

Aaditya and Anjali travel to the London Junior Chess Championship
Two of our youngest players travelled to play in the very prestigious London Junior Chess Championship at the end of December 2017.
