September at Groomsport

The club hopes to make all future events FIDE rated, as long as a FIDE National Arbiter is available.

The club is also delighted to announce George Gamble has volunteered to be the new Club Secretary for the 2022/2023 season. Geoff Sterrett will also be joining the committee and has offered to take on an officer’s role. Sam Moore will be remaining as Team Captain for another year. Key-holder and Equipment Secretary Richard McClean will remain in his role, as will Rebecca McClurg as the Club Arbiter and Child Protection Officer.

Bangor Chess Club will hold its final night of the season on Thursday 28th April before taking a 4 month summer break. The club will reopen at 7:30pm on Thursday 1st September. Newcomers are always very welcome. Annual club fees are currently set at £30 per season, due for collection in early September.
