An opportunity to qualify for the British Blitz final - Belfast Qualifier Sat 12th Sept.

One of the most pretigious tournaments of the Calender for fast chess. The 2026 UK Open Blitz Championships: Belfast qualifier. Will take place on 12th Sept Sat.

WIth the start of the Chess season on us. The annual Belfast Qualifier for the UK Open Blitz Championships will happen on Saturday 12th Sept 2026.

The event will be FIDE rated

Format: Swiss-System Tournament
Number of Rounds: 15
Number of Half Point Byes Permitted: 0
Qualification Places in the Final: 1 per qualifier
Qualification Places in the Women’s Final: 1 per qualifier
Time Control: 3 + 2
Schedule: Registration from 10.30am, games start from 11.00am sharp. Note this differs from the default time listed on the ECF website.
Default Time: None; a player has until their time expires to arrive
Entry Fee: £27
