2025 UK Open Blitz Tournament Rules – Qualifiers for the Finals
1. Qualification for the Open Final
The winner of each qualifier will qualify for the Open Final.
2. Qualification for the Women’s Final The highest-placed female player, who has not qualified for the Final in accordance with rule 1, will qualify for the Women’s Final.
3. Female Player Qualifying for the Open Final If a female player wins a qualifier, then she may choose whether to play in the Open Final or the Women’s Final. If she decides to play in the Open Final, the qualifying place for the Women’s Final will go to the next highest-placed female player in the same qualifier. If there are no further female players in that qualifier, then the place will be distributed in accordance with the process in rule 4 below.
4. No Female Entries in a Qualifier The highest-scoring female player in any of the other qualifiers who did not qualify will be invited to play in the Women’s Final. In the event of this being tied, then the player with the highest Tournament Performance Rating on that score will qualify.
5. A Qualifying Player Declines their Place in the Final The place will be awarded to the next highest-finishing player in that qualifier. If that player is female, the player will retain the right to choose their Final as in rule 3 above. This process will repeat until a player is found who accepts the invitation. If there are no further players to invite to a Final from a qualifier, then the highest-scoring player in any of the other qualifiers who did not qualify will be invited to play in the Final. In the event of this being tied, then the player with the highest Tournament Performance Rating on that score will qualify.
