Events to watch for over the Summer include The Citi Belfast Charity Rapidplay

Lots of Chess over the Summer including a Charity FIDE rated Rapidplay, The usual Summer Tournament, International Chess Day Celebration by 2 Royal Avenue and Roaming Knights and Lisburn Chess Clubs excellent events.

On Thursday 3rd August at Citi Group Offices 7:25pm there will be a Charity tournament in aid of Marie Curie.

The Citi Belfast Charity Rapidplay 2023 - In aid of Marie Curie - The UK's leading End of Life Charity providing frontline nursing, Hospice Care and Support Line.

Location  Citi, Gateway Offices, 60 Sydenham Rd, Belfast BT3 9DP.
Register 7:15pm
Round 1: 7:30pm
5 Round Swiss using Swiss Master.
Award ceremony : 10:20pm
Entry is Free

Clock times 15mins each.
FIDE rules apply - this will be FIDE rated.
If you dont have a FIDE no. You will need to give me your Date of Birth.
This is open to all players - for security reasons we will need your names before the event. So please register by ;Weds 2nd August - and on the day please bring photo id (all types acceptable).

Venue: Ormeau Park - Ormeau Bowling Club hall.

Each day will comprise of well structured tutorials mixed with
practical and fun games, puzzles and mini competitions.
We will be teaching the game of chess in easy enjoyable steps. You
will learn the moves and some of the strategies of Chess. A game that
teaches planning, logic, problem solving.

If you know the rules and would like to learn more we will cover
tactics, analysing a move, solving problems.

If you are a good player we will provide coaching to improve your
play and develop your own plan of studying for the future.

Lots of chess fun including: Mini tournaments, puzzle solving.
Studying Great Masters. Endgame Studies.

Pre-registration required. Closing date 7th August. Price £15 for the
course (payable on the first day). Please (email) send name,
address, school , age, Chess level – Total Beginner, Knows the rules,
regular player.
Limited Numbers Book early to avoid disappointment.
Recommended Lower age limit approx 7 years.
