The QFT on October 30th had an evening with Mark Kermonde. His film for the evening was "Queen of Katwe" about a young Ugandan Girl's passion for Chess.
As an Ulster Girls Chess Champion, Anjali had the privilege to be a special guest at Cinemagic Festival - Mark Kermode Film Night held at Queens Film Theater, Belfast this year where they screened the Disney movie 'Queen of Katwe'. A film based on a true story about an Ugandan girl from the slums in Kampala whose life changes forever when she discovers she has an amazing talent for chess.
Anjali shared the stage with film critic Mark Kermode and documentary filmmaker Brian Henry Martin and also showed few chess moves to the audience.

Disney presents Queen of Katwe, a movie based on a vibrant true story starring Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo, and directed by Mira Nair. A Ugandan girl’s life changes forever when she discovers she has an amazing talent for chess, in this celebration of the human spirit.
