The new School year has started and the Childrens Chess Tournament series kicks-off
The first in the monthly tournaments for this academic year is the London Junior Chess Championship Belfast Qualifier on Saturday 7th October.
Ulster Chess Championships 2017
The Ulster Chess Championships were held over the weekend of 2nd/3rd September at the brilliant location of the Europa Hotel.
Gentle reminder that this years UCU fees have been increased to £25.
This years UCU fees were increased at the AGM to £25 for adults and £10 for under 16's.
St Petersburg v Belfast match report
On Friday 18 August 2017, twelve players from Belfast travelled to Russia for an exciting week long chess trip. Located in the North East of Saint Petersburg, the Kalininsky Sports School hosted the international chess match, an event that was planned over the past 8 months by Mikhail Pavlov (1795) and Brendan Jamison (1747). The staff and coaches at Kalininsky were extremely warm and friendly and they presented a fun-filled week of chess activities for Team Belfast.
