The UK Chess Challenge this year is being held online
I include the details from Email from the UK Chess Challenge organisers. The first Megafinal weekend is 20th/21st May.
There are also opportunities to learn and improve your game.
From the Chess Challenge Director: Sarah Longson
"Hello
Firstly we hope everyone is well and keeping safe during these unprecedented times.
We are very excited to be bringing a full “Summer Festival Programme” to participants in the UK Chess Challenge with lots of events to keep everyone entertained. As well as our old favourites (Megafinals, Gigafinals and Terafinal) we are also running a Blitz Championship, “Chess 960” Championship and a few others.
All events will be taking place online on lichess.org - the best place on the web to play chess.
An online environment provides some great opportunities to learn and improve at the game and so we are also running a number of training and coaching events throughout the summer for those keen to improve as well as play. Some of the nations finest coaches as well as past champions (including myself!) will be involved in simultaneous displays, “Beat the Coach” challenges and more.
The current sale period lasts until 31st May. The first Megafinal weekend is 20th and 21st June.
Full details and entry form now available on the website.
