In hot pursuit, the extremely talented 8 year old Ethan Cole came 2nd and newcomer Declan McKee delivered a smacking debut performance, securing 3rd place. All 3 had very intense endgames where they had to watch for lots of tactical tricks.
Gary Johnston also got a draw with his d4 opening transposition into a Smith-Morra Gambit. Meanwhile George Gamble won the ‘Most Improved Player’ after dominating the opening with exceptional play.
