FIDE and other organisations foster junior chess through a number of National and Internation competition. Ulster supports individual players and regularly fields Ulster teams in as many competitions as possible.

Interprovincial Tournament 2005

Ulster Schools hosted the All Ireland Under 19 and Under 16 Interprovincial Tournament on the weekend of 4/5 March 2005. The team competition was held at Methodist College, Belfast with visiting teams from Leinster and Munster.
